There are compelling reasons to own a print book you want to read, AND to have an e-book version to go along with it. It is devilishly hard to save all your notes and clipping when you have a print copy, and you can’t admire a book on your bookshelf or share it with a friend (in most cases) when you have an e-book copy. So what gives? Why not have both? Barnes and Noble has been regularly updating Nook for iOS

Barnes and Noble pushed out three updates in all of 2019 for the Nook e-reading app for iOS in 2019 and four in 2018. This year, the bookseller seems to be developing new features and software enhancements at regular intervals. This year B&N has already pushed out three updates, twice in March and once in May. Amazon is trying all sorts of things with their current generation Kindles to try and get people to upgrade from previous generation models or get it for the first time. In 2020, the Kindle Paperwhite received new color options, Sage and Plum, in addition to white, black and blue models. The Kindle Basic has been shipping out 8GB models, to customers, instead of the stock 4GB edition.
