Pocketbook InkPad Eo is a new e-reader that is coming out soon
Pocketbook will release a new e-reader in the next month or two, called the Pocketbook InkPad Eo. Not much is known about this upcoming device; however, it does have the model name PB1042. Pocketbook has just attained FCC certification to sell it in the United States on January 11th, 2024.
The Pocketbook Eo looks like a 7.8-inch e-reader, similar to the Pocketbook Era. This actually might be the spiritual successor of this model. Judging by the only picture of the device, it looks like it has two speakers to listen to audiobooks, music and podcasts. Bluetooth is also available for the same purpose. There is a USB-C port for charging and transferring data and a MicroSD to expand storage further. The device looks like four microphones; maybe it is for voice functionality. Pocketbook hasn’t done voice dictation before or had any AI functionality for real-time voice translations. These holes don’t look to be there to connect to a case. Of course, WIFI internet access also connects to the Pocketbook bookstore.
I have a feeling that the Pocketbook InkPad Eo has the same design and body as the Bigme S6 Color+. The position of the power button, fingerprint sensor, SD card, speakers, and microphones is the same. If this is the case, it is powered by an octa-core 2.3 GHz processor, 6GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. An SD card capable of an additional 1TB is available. It supports Bluetooth 5.0 and Wi-Fi and is powered by a 3000 mAh battery. I wonder if they will be running Linux or Android on this model or if it will be a black-and-white screen or use the Kaleido 3 colour e-paper display as the Bigme. I am also unsure if they will include note-taking functionality on this one or if it will just be a basic e-reader. Pocketbook and Bigme have been working together for over ten years.
